Crimped Cable Assemblies

Crimping is the act of joining a wire to a contact using a crimp tool that ensures a simple, fast, and precise termination every time. During crimping, the contact barrel is compressed on to the wire to mechanically bond the contact and conductor (solid core or stranded wire) together. Crimp termination offers the highest reliability, and is the preferred method for high-performance military and aerospace applications because it permits higher contact densities, ease of installation, and increased reliability over solder termination. Because crimp contacts are removable, damaged pins can be individually replaced without sacrificing the connector.
Crimp terminations can be one of the most reliable and rugged types of connection, but only if crimped correctly. At our factories we carefully follow all the necessary crimping procedures and use only highly skilled production workers. We have a wide range of applicators for our automated crimp machines and we also have many hand crimp tools. All of our tooling is maintained and adjusted regularly and also replaced as necessary to ensure that every single crimp is terminated to the highest standard. To monitor the quality of our crimp terminations, our crimps are checked for pull force using a crimp force analyser, so you can be assured of the reliability of the cables we supply.
